You’ve probably thought about money once or twice in your life. You probably have a few stories in your memory regarding how your parents felt about money. One or two of them might’ve even carried through into your adult life. If you’re like me, more than one or two have carried through!

Money is a touchy subject, a lot of people don’t like to talk about it. Yet others love to show it or even brag about it. Those who are better off financially have different views than the poor do, for sure…but what are they and how can you change your money story?

It may surprise you to know that the rich do not all have the same story about money. For some, its the biggest driver out there keeping their nose to the grindstone. The hustlers with the hard work and fake-it-til-you-make it mentalities. For others, it is a tool they can use to fulfill their passions in life. Walt Disney once said, “I want to make money on my movies, so I can keep making movies.” He was driven by his passion, not just by the accumulation of the almighty buck.

If you think about your childhood and adolescence, you can probably figure out where your own money story came from. Was money scarce? Were rich people considered rude pricks? Was it something that came and went, sometimes you had it, sometimes you didn’t?

What money story do you want to CREATE in your life? More emphasis must be put on this. You need to change your story starting today. Change your present. I HAVE MONEY. Change your past…I never really believed that rich people were rude, that was someone else’s opinion. Change your future: how is it going to look for you next month, next year, in the next 5 years?

Get out your journal or your phone or a napkin and write it down. Get your new money story out of you and onto something concrete. You can change the stories that are in your past, your now, and your future. Go ahead and give it a try. Don’t think for a minute that it won’t work. Plant those seeds.
